THE STATIC JACKS: DEFEND ROSIE

Fresh off a string of dates with The Futureheads and We Were Promised Jetpacks, New Jersey’s The Static Jacks return home for a show at Piano’s this Wednesday, June 30th! If you haven’t already seen these guys performing for free in Union Square, you can watch a preview of the band’s trailer for “Defend Rosie” below. The band “blends Interpol’s tense guitar work and driven drum beats with a more “alt-rock” approach mostly traceable in their preference for epic, open melodies.” (The Deli) The Static Jacks are a rare and refreshing act of twenty-somethings with a solid reputation for writing entrancing songs that disregard the latest trends and defy simple labeling.  Featuring stomp-clap beats, mesmerizing layers of guitar rhythm and deep sandpaper vocals, The Static Jacks cast off the computer-based trends of modern music makers. Their stripped-down sound resonates influences ranging from 1980s punk to current indie pop music.
