THE DIG: ELECTRIC TOYS
Have you heard of The Dig? You may have by now because the crowd pleasing garage band has scored a spot on tour with Editors and The Antlers, playing Terminal 5 this Friday night. Literally right after this tour, the band heads out with Portugal, the Man and Port O’Brien, so you might say that The Dig are having a pretty good year so far. Our friends at Backseatsandbar first turned us on to this Brooklyn band who are quickly building their reputation as one of the best young bands in New York and are sure to get a lot of people talking this year.
Some reasons to pay attention:
•Their work ethic is insane. For years they’ve been playing all over NYC regularly and hitting the streets with an endless stream of posters, flyers and free music (Fact: I had their robot postcard displayed in my kitchen for a year before I ever met them.)
• The Dig’s forthcoming debut full-length Electric Toys was produced by Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Antony & the Johnsons, The Ramones, Bishop Allen)
• The Dig have played/toured with The Walkmen, White Rabbits, Here We Go Magic, Mission of Burma, The Soft Pack…
