RETURN OF THE STROKES: WITH A NEW ALBUM, ANGLES AND TOUR HEADLINING COACHELLA, ARE THE STROKES BACK?

Buzzworthy Strokes news: Last night,  it was officially announced that The Strokes are back and will headline the 2011 Coachella Festival on April 15-17 in California along with Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon, Bright Eyes, The Black Keys, Animal Collective, Interpol, The National, Kanye West and a ton of other bands.  Tickets for the fest will go on sale Friday, January 21 at 1PM and will be available HERE.

Coachella is the second show on the Strokes 2011 tour to support their highly anticipated fourth studio album since 2006’s First Impressions of Earth. While no New York tour dates have been announced just yet, there is still some room for excitement. With the album finally completed, the band has released the name of the first single, “Undercover Of Darkness”,  a tentative release date of March 22 and an album name: Angles.

Guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr.  told Rolling Stone magazine that the title reflects “what the record sounds like. It comes from five different people.

While this has us pretty stoked, news of the 4th album is stirring some very different reactions out there.

As for album art…while Julian Casablancas has been tweeting some  ‘exclusive’ images of the new Strokes album covers this month, which you can peep below, we will most likely have to wait a bit longer for the official cover to leak…or will we?

Is this it?

Seriously?…
