BABY TRASHES A BAR IN JOHANNE NYHOM’S SHORT FILM: LAS PALMAS

Johannes Nyhom’s new short film “Las Palmas” hasn’t officially been released yet in it’s entirety, but the trailer has received almost 430,000 hits on YouTube since it was posted this past Monday. Watch it and you’ll see why.

The concept behind the short film is simple but genius. Inspired by new fatherhood, Johannes decided to make a short film featuring his one year old daughter as a drunk and disorderly middle aged woman in a bar in Las Palmas. When we heard about the idea from Johannes last year, we knew it was going to be good. But from the looks of the trailer, the film has exceeded even our very high expectations for it.

The film premiered at the Gothenberg Film Festival last week, winning the best short film award and the audience award. You can read more about the film and its accolades at Johannes’ website.

“Las Palmas” is just one of the more than 150 short films that Rooftop films will screen during this year’s Summer Series.
