DISCOSALT ARTIST SPOTLIGHT:TOM HASLINGER

Born in Linz, Austria, Tom Haslinger began photography in 1999 and was the assistant to Thomas Smetana from 1999 to 2000. In the year 2000 Tom moved to Vienna where he was the assistant for Markus Rossle until 2003. He has worked for some model agencies in London and assistant for ranking, as well as Dazed and Confused Magazine. Tom has worked for advertizing campaigns with Nike, Milka, T-Mobile, Addidas and other local clients. Tom has been working in New York City since 2005 doing test shoots for various modeling agencies and is a member of the Discosalt Artist Collective.

    Loving the B.R.M.C. pic at the bottom there miss those guys hope new album recording is going well, although Baby 81 was such a great 4th album πŸ˜€

      Awesome you picked up on that. Did you ever check out the effects of 333? the instrumental album after Baby 81.

    I am huge fan of B.R.M.C had just had forgotten about them for a while, i’ve heard a lot about the effects of 333 its meant to be quite different but good none the less still need to check it out which is stupid that i haven’t yet seeing as i think it was released around xmas 08 @joe do you have any insight in to T.E.O.333?

      Hmm. Its def not instrumental bluesy psych rock and not really a cohesive follow up to Baby 81… Much more experimental. Lots of pseudo noise tracks maybe too loud to be ambient, too polished to be real noise. The album gets a lot of slack for sounding like a “Halloween soundtrack” but if you like the band, its worth a listen. Will be interesting to see where they go with their next album.
