The War On Drugs are excited to share the brand new video for the dylan-esc track “Brothers,” one of the many highlights off their stellar Slave Ambient. Following the more kaleidoscopic videos for “Baby Missiles” and “Come to the City,” the “Brothers” video, definitely takes a different approach with its bleak western narrative. Here’s what the director team of Brewer, a pair of brothers (Ben and Alex), had to say about the video:

“We kept picturing it as the soundtrack to a dark western like Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid or Unforgiven. That is where the deranged T.V cowboy character came from. We wanted the video to feel like the most exciting five minutes taken out of a longer movie. The biggest challenge in the filming was how to make the old cowboy (played by David Weindel) seem threatening, and how to make the nurse (played by Tallie Medel) seem like she was dealing with the situation the way a normal person might really handle such a nightmare.”

Husband is Gianlorenzo (Buzz Aldrin) and Chiara from Bologna.  Offsetting the driving Italo-pop dronetronica rhythms of their track “Slow Motion” is this strangely uneasy video filmed and edited by Ailien Reyes, which features the duo’s shared love of volcanoes.

Following up 2010′s Treats, Sleigh Bells has announced the release of their sophomore album, Reign of Terror.  Expect another dark, fuzzed-out, and fist-pump-worthy mix of beats, with guitarist Derek Miller shredding through effect-filled guitar line after effect-filled guitar line and Krauss dishing up a crushing, heavier, more melodic  mix of pitch-perfect notes, to tie the whole album together in a neat, dance floor-approved package.  If this album trailer doesn’t excite you, check your pulse. 

Tomorrow, November 29, Jagjaguwar is releasing a deluxe edition of Bon Iver‘s album Bon Iver on iTunes, with a limited edition DVD coming in early December.  As a special treat, you can watch a sneak preview of, one of the track-by-track short film accompaniments, that will be included in the package.  Isaac Gale and David Jenson direct this warm, glowing video for the track  ”Hinnom, TX”; an atmospheric synth-pop ballad, which finds Justin Vernon dreaming of a burial place for strangers near Jerusalem, and relocating the bodies to the heart of the Texas desert. But for a song about burying strangers, this is also a song about buying the stranger within yourself and starting anew;  as much about the end of life, as it is about the beginning.

The Vaccines recently went into the studio to record with Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes and Gus Oberg. The product of that session is the band’s latest track “Tiger Blood.”  Watch the official new video for the track right here. “Tiger Blood” and The Vaccines b-side “Tuck and Roll” will be available digitally December 13th on Columbia Records. Official video for “Work” by scruffy Northern Wales rockers WE // ARE // ANIMAL. Directed by Cyrus Mirza & Nic Booth, the video delivers a “slice of taut, jerky backwoods dance punk, topped with wheezy synths and some fantastically recorded guitars that sound like orchestra hits…This is all slathered over by a base of snapping, disco seasoned drums and percussion with a thick, rich bass sound bringing it all together”.

Montreal’s Stars have partnered with IFC to premiere the music video for “Dead Hearts.” In addition to appearing on 2010′s The Five Ghosts, the song is slated for release on the soundtrack for upcoming film Like Crazy - the 2011 winner of Best Picture at the Sundance Film Festival.

The band worked with renowned Canadian street artist Roadsworth to conceptualize and create the heart imagery in the video. To honor his work, the band is asking fans to draw inspiration from Roadsworth’s vision to create their own “dead hearts.” Using iPhone app, Instagram, fans will submit photos tagged with #deadhearts in order to enter their photo to be used in a companion video. M83 has released an official video for “Midnight City”, the first single from Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. Directed by Fleur & Manu and Produced by DIVISION, “Midnight City” is the soundtrack for a pack of gifted kids with telekinetic powers who escape from an institution to be free and run wild on the outskirts of LA. Having recently relocated to Los Angeles, the video reflects Anthony’s ongoing love affair with the magical escapism of film and the city itself.

Luke Roberts recently signed to Thrill Jockey and announced he will be fleeing New York City in search of freedom. What form does freedom take in this day and age?

“…why leave New York?  Well, for one, there’s no place to park a 1979 Chevy Tioga, it’s also expensive, and there are no alleys (which is annoying to everyone who’s ever lived anywhere else). “  Ultimately, though, the musician plans to eat “a lot of Arby’s Bacon Beef and Cheddar sandwiches” which is highly understandable.
