GIVE MEMIORS DU FRANC/BOAT TO NOWHERE SOME LEGS

Discosalt artist Jason Woodside and his wife Amy still have a ways to go in their pledge drive to make their new project a reality…and they have some extra rad incentives to give.  Posted on the kickstarter site is a quick video they made for the project.

Following this video clip will be a longer documentary about recent works and projects that should be posted in the next week or two. Check out the video clip or some more of Jason’s work on Discosalt right HERE

Memoirs du Franc follows the story of Frank, who sets sail from the USA to France to find his long lost brother, Franc. Frank logs his journey across the Sea of Lewis in Scowla, a boat gifted by a gypsy. The book is mainly composed of pictures, with a small amount of text. My paintings are based on Frank’s travels; illustrating who he meets along the way, his struggle between dreams and reality, fear and hope.
Jason has the head and the heart of this beast already. What he needs is your help to give it legs.

BOAT TO NOWHERE: A NEW T-SHIRT PROJECT FROM JASON WOODSIDE

Discosalt artist Jason Woodside is launching a new multi faceted project with no limits, to inspire people through art…and with some fun incentives – check the link below for details HERE
To be inspired by art, you have to be able to take something from it. So Jason has created something that everyone can relate to. That everyone can be a part of.   Jason has created a series of paintings and a book, Memoirs du Franc, alongside a collaborative project with his new wife ‘Boat to Nowhere’, a t-shirt company featuring design surrounding the concept that we are all looking for something. Boat To Nowhere will launch as a t-shirt company with designs hand drawn and silk-screened by Jason.

DISCOSALT IN “LOOK AT THIS F*CKING HIPSTER” BOOK

Check out Discosalt’s review photo from last summer’s  unapplified accoustic BBQ at Fort Tilden in Brooklyn, in the book version of Look At This F*cking Hipster (LATFH.com), which hits stores on March 30.  LATFH takes its hipsterati photo format from the web to your fingertips, providing a coffee table friendly slice of hipsterdom that will sit nicely next to your helf-empty PBR cans. Now you can ironically hate your coffee table book too.  You can win free copies of the book by checking out The_Real_LATFH on Twitter on March 30.

VIKTOR TIMOFEEV: LOCAL AREA NETWORK[S]

New work from Discosalt Artist Viktor Timofeev will be on display in London, England at Hannah Barry Gallery and in Cologne, Germany at Schmidt & Handrup. The work will be on display beginning January 14th and 15th, respectively.

The shows include enamel, ink, spray paint, acrylic on paper and canvas exemplifying Timofeev’s growing versatility in his work. We think this is some of his best to date.
